Collector Cartel Comic Cons are coming to HR4K

Collector Cartel Comic Cons are coming to HR4K

Meet and Greet

Several weeks ago we had the opportunity to sit down with Ben at HR4K in Hereford. What began as a simple conversation quickly turned into something we are genuinely excited to explore and build together.

We are pleased to say that Collector Cartel Comic Cons will be coming to HR4K, with plans underway for a first event around September. We are grateful to Ben for welcoming us into the space and supporting the idea from the outset.

This post is not a full announcement. It is simply to let people know that this is happening, and that early planning has begun.

The venue

HR4K is a space with real character. Open, flexible and full of atmosphere, it feels social by design rather than forced into being an events hall. It is the kind of place where people naturally browse, talk and spend time.

The site itself is part of Hereford’s history, located at the former WW1 and WW2 Royal Ordnance Factory at Rotherwas. Once a place of manufacture and industry, it has been repurposed into a community led venue built around connection, creativity and purpose. There is something fitting about bringing comics, art and storytelling into a building that already carries history within its walls.

If you have never been to HR4K before, the short video below gives a genuine feel for the space we are hoping to work with.

What we are hoping to build

Our aim is to launch the first Collector Cartel Comic Con at HR4K around September, with a clear focus to begin with on comics.

We hope to create a space that brings together artists, creators, collectors and vendors in a way that feels considered rather than crowded, and welcoming rather than overwhelming.

Our early ideas include:

  • Space for comic artists and creators who would like to be involved
  • Tables for comic vendors and collectors
  • An area that could be used for live conversations, talks or small shows
  • A layout that encourages discussion and community
  • None of this is locked in yet. This is the stage where ideas turn into conversations.

HR4K is already set up to host people properly. There are toilet facilities on site, a bar, coffee, seating areas and plenty of room to move around comfortably. It is an established venue that people already enjoy spending time in.

An open call for interest

At this stage, we cannot promise guests, artists or final programming.

What we can say is that we are actively exploring what this event could become.

If you are a comic artist, creator, publisher or vendor and you would be interested in setting up, contributing, appearing or helping shape a Collector Cartel Comic Con at HR4K, we would genuinely love to hear from you. Early conversations will help guide what this first event looks like.

Much more information will follow once plans are further along.

This is just the beginning

Dates, layouts, tables and event details will all be shared in due course. For now, consider this the first signal.

And we are looking forward to seeing who wants to help shape it.
